She graduated from Sunset High School in Beaverton in 1998. As a child, Sackhoff enjoyed swimming and pursued it when she was injured.
Sackhoff has also starred in popular television shows like Battlestar Galactica and Alias Grace. Her character on Battlestar Galactica was a tough pilot named Starbuck. The role earned her the Saturn Award for Best Actress in a TV Series.
